‘Bama-loving bank bandit apprehended, Duluth police say

The ‘Bama-loving bank bandit has been had, Duluth police said Monday.

On Saturday, the agency released surveillance photos of a man they believed responsible for a Friday evening robbery at the SunTrust bank inside the Publix store at Old Peachtree Road and Buford Highway. The images clearly captured the man's face — as well as his University of Alabama cap — and he was identified within hours of his appearance on newspaper websites and TV broadcasts.

Monday morning, Kerry Douglas McGraw, 60, was apprehended in Coweta County, Duluth police Maj. Don Woodruff said. McGraw — who is also believed responsible for a bank robbery in Woodstock — was charged with armed robbery and will be transported to the Gwinnett County jail “ASAP,” Woodruff said.
