UPDATE [4:20 p.m.]: Both people were taken into custody in Henry County, authorities said.

ORIGINAL STORY: Authorities have issued Georgia's version of an Amber Alert after a 16-year-old Middle Georgia girl told her parents that she and her boyfriend were going to Arkansas.

Alyssa Riley Cole and Steven Tanner Meyer, 19, both of Forsyth, were last seen in Monroe County about 2 p.m. Friday, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies were notified about 8:45 p.m.

“Upon further investigation, it was realized that a 9mm Beretta pistol was missing from the interior of Cole’s residence,” Lt. Lawson Bittick III said.

Meyer is known to have an AR-15-style rifle, according to Bittick.

Authorities are looking for a dark gray 2003 GMC Yukon with a Georgia tag of ALW3567. The vehicle does not have a hood over the engine compartment.

The Levi's Call was issued by the GBI.

Anyone with knowledge of the teens’ whereabouts is asked to call deputies at 478-994-7010.
