Two Georgia men were arrested Friday evening in Kansas, one of whom is sought in connection with the death of a DeKalb County man, police said.

John C. Czarnecki, 53, and Christopher G. Smith, 47, were arrested by officers of the Kansas Highway Patrol and the U.S. Marshals Service, according to a Facebook post by police in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Czarnecki and Smith were charged with kidnapping, robbery and armed criminal action after they allegedly kidnapped a woman from a Walmart parking lot Thursday in Cape Girardeau, according to the post.

The men are being held on $1 million cash bond, police said.

Czarnecki is sought in connection with the death of Abraham Rudolph Jacobs of a Dresden Drive address in Chamblee, police said.

Chamblee police became involved when the FBI asked them to assist with an investigation into the Missouri kidnapping and robbery.

Czarnecki allegedly used a Suzuki Grand Vitara registered to Jacobs in the Missouri incident, according to authorities. Officers found Jacobs’ body inside the apartment of Czarnecki, who was his neighbor.
