A Douglas County woman is accused of stealing two syringes and using them to inject heroin inside a pet store.
Julia Miller, 22, was arrested early Friday at WellStar Kennestone Hospital and transported to the Cobb County jail, where she remained Tuesday night on $10,000 bond, booking records show.
Miller, of Douglasville, allegedly entered the PetSmart on Cobb Parkway, near Town Center Mall, Friday afternoon and went to the veterinary section, where she asked for syringes, according to her arrest warrant obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“Accused asked the employees for a syringe to which they told her no because it was against their policy,” the warrant states. “When the employees were busy assisting other customers, the accused went behind the counter and into a private room and stole two syringes from a drawer.”
Miller then allegedly went into the store’s bathroom and injected herself with heroin using the syringes, according to Cobb County police. A clear, plastic bag containing suspected heroin was located next to the toilet, and Miller allegedly admitted she’d injected it, police said.
Miller also had two prescription pain pills in a plastic bag in her purse, the warrant states.
She was charged with heroin possession, drug possession and theft by taking, jail records show.
