Chilly today, but a tad warmer heading into weekend

With lots of sunshine on tap for today, it will help to think warm thoughts.

“We have lots of sunshine, but cold temperatures in the forecast right on through the day,” said Channel 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz. “Temperatures struggle to make it into he mid-40’s in the afternoon and then turning chilly again overnight.”

In the Midwest, millions are having a cold and dark Christmas as crews work around the clock to restore electricity, following a weekend ice storm. The U.S. National Weather Service said more snow is forecast to roll into the Great Lakes and Midwest by Wednesday morning. At least 24 deaths have been linked to the cold blast.
