The inaugural Northside-Cherokee Cherokee County School District Senior Bowl is being rescheduled.

Cherokee’s Etowah High School topped Newton 43-29 Friday night to advance in the high school football playoffs. The CCSD bowl contest that had been set for this Friday is thus being put off so that Etowah’s seniors can participate.

The game — the first of its kind for the CCSD — is being planned to honor senior football players, cheerleaders, marching band members and junior ROTC cadets from throughout the county while capping the high school football season. Coaches from the two opposing teams have “drafted” senior players from Cherokee’s high schools for the contest.
