The former Cherokee County school board member found guilty of lying to authorities about being attacked by the superintendent will learn her fate today.

Kelly Marlow will be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. in Cherokee County Superior Court for her felony conviction Saturday on filing a false police report.

A Cherokee County jury decided Saturday that Marlow was indeed guilty of fabricating a story that school Superintendent Frank Petruzielo tried to run over her and two associates with his SUV after a contentious late-night school board meeting nearly one year ago.

Marlow, who was suspended after the weekend conviction, resigned from her position Wednesday.
