Baltimore

Protests continued in the city of Baltimore, Maryland, last night, resulting in violence between police and citizens. The Baltimore PD has urged residents to stay home while a 10 p.m. curfew was largely ignored. Many protests have been staged over the two weeks after the mysterious death of 25-year-old black man Freddie Gray. Gray died after succumbing to spinal injuries received while in police custody. DeKalb County Scandal

In the past year, several DeKalb county board members have been found guilty of crimes such as tax fraud and a vote-buying scheme. Now federal prosecutors are investigating Zoning Board of Appeals Chairman Darryl Jennings Sr. While Jennings Sr. has not been charged with a crime, the federal prosecutors have issued a subpoena for collection compensation records, requests for payments, electronic fund transfers and more. Metro Atlanta Real Estate

Bad news for buyers, great news for sellers: Atlanta home prices are up 5.6 percent from last year. This growth is slower than the last few years but is still a positive for Atlanta's economy. Low-inventory is believed to be the reason for the increase. Get the full story here.

The Hawks have won two games and lost two games against the Brooklyn Nets, a team they were supposed to dominate. Jeff Schultz believes the team has lost its regular-season afterglow.

Georgia Democrats are still looking for a candidate to challenge Republican two-term incumbent Senator Johnny Isakson in the 2016 election. Ted Turner Drive?

Yesterday the Atlanta City Council committee heard arguments both for and against the renaming of a section of Spring Street in honor of CNN founder and philanthropist Ted Turner. Many political and business leaders spoke in support of Turner, while four community leaders spoke against the proposal. The council did not make a decision either way.
