A man who was ejected from his motorcycle died Wednesday at a local hospital, Cobb County police said.

Police say David M. Lance, 41, of Dallas, was traveling northbound just after midnight on Cobb Parkway near Blue Springs Road when he crashed into the back of a 1985 Ford Bronco.

The driver of the Ford Bronco had was braking as a traffic light changed to red at the time, police said.

Lance was thrown from his bike and landed into a grass shoulder. He was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, but died after shortly arriving.

Police do not expect to charge the other driver in the crash.
