A man was hit by several vehicles and killed after he tried to cross I-85 in DeKalb County on Sunday night, police said.

Marcos Antonio Morales Perez, 29, was pronounced dead when officers arrived on scene around 11:30 p.m. His body was found in the southbound lanes near the Chamblee Tucker Road entrance ramp.

DeKalb County police did not say if the vehicles involved in the deadly accident remained at the scene. The investigation blocked all southbound lanes for several hours overnight and did not clear until about 3:45 a.m., according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

The incident remains under investigation, police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer told Channel 2 Action News.
