Two people were rushed to a Cobb County hospital Tuesday morning after their pickup truck was rear-ended and an ATV they were hauling smashed into them.

According to Marietta police, it appears the Chevrolet pickup was stalled on the exit ramp from I-75 North to Delk Road when it was hit. A Jeep Compass crashed into the back of the truck just before 1 a.m.

The two people in the truck “sustained life-threatening injuries when an ATV they were hauling in the bed of their pickup was propelled forward through the back glass,” police spokesman Jared Raketraw said.

They were taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital and are currently receiving treatment, he said. They are not being named until their families are notified.

The Marietta police traffic unit is still investigating. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Officer Samimi at 770-794-5384.
