Retired Atlanta public schools superintendent Beverly Hall will have to pay a $200,000 bond to be released from jail, far less than the $7.5 million bond a grand jury recommended, said her attorney, David J. Bailey.
He said $150,000 of that amount will be a signature bond, and $50,000 is a cash bond.
Hall will be expected to pay 10 percent of the cash bond — $5,000 — 90 percent of which is refundable at the end of the case, Bailey said in a phone interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The bond recommendation was changed after negotiations with Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard, Bailey said.
“I don’t think there was really any serious entertainment of that” $7.5 million amount, Bailey said.
Four top administrators — Millicent Few, Michael Pitts, Sharon Davis-Williams and Tamara Cotman —had their bonds set at $4 million cash.
Bonds for the 30 other people named in a 90-page indictment Friday ranged from $200,000 to $2 million. But 33 of the 35 had already had their bonds adjusted by negotiating a new amount with the D.A., according to Jada Hudspetch.
Adjusted bond amounts reported as of Tuesday afternoon:
Theresia Copeland, testing coordinator, Benteen Elementary School, $50,000 (10 percent option)
Donald Bullock, testing coordinator, Usher-Collier Heights Elementary School, $1 million (no adjustment as of Tuesday afternoon)
Sandra Ward, testing coordinator, Parks Middle School, $50,000
Sheridan Rogers, testing coordinator, Gideons Elementary School, $50,000
Gregory Reid, assistant principal, Parks Middle School, $50,000

Wendy Ahmed, teacher, Humphries Elementary School, $50,000
Starlette Mitchell, teacher, Parks Middle School, $50,000
Ingrid Abella-Sly, teacher, Humphries Elementary School, $50,000
Lisa Terry, teacher, Dunbar Elementary School, $80,000
Tameka Goodson, school improvement specialist, Kennedy Middle School, $40,000 (with a 10 percent option)
