Gwinnett sheriff’s deputies have nearly halved their “Most Wanted” rogue’s gallery with the arrests this week of an alleged gang member wanted for a devastating shooting and a man wanted for a killing.

Both men were found in attics, Channel 2 Action News reported. The sheriff’s office partly credited viewers of Channel 2, which features the wanted list on its website, for its success.

Alejandro Javier Velasquez was wanted on felony assault charges for allegedly shooting a man in the head and disfiguring him last November. The alleged gang member was found in well-kept, two-story brick house on Herndon Road in Lawrenceville.

The raid on Wednesday shocked neighbors, who thought the house and its occupants exuded normalcy.

“I just never suspected anything like that because usually even if they have a gathering or something like that, usually by 11 o’clock it’s over,” Will Long told partner station Telemundo. “The kids were well behaved.”

A Gwinnett magistrate on Friday ordered Velasquez held without bond.

The same day, deputies and U.S. Marshals also captured another "Most Wanted" in another Lawrenceville attic, this one on Tunbridge Lane. Rodnie, also known as Rodine, Stokes was picked up on illicit drug charges in Gwinnett and was wanted on murder charges in Gainesville, authorities said. He is accused in the June 5 drug-related shooting death of 41-year-old Cedric Huff, Gainesville police said.

Of the 42 mugshots on Gwinnett’s “Most Wanted” poster, 16 have now been captured.
