A felon is back in jail after police in north Fulton County seized guns and multiple cartridges of highly potent THC oil that were in his car.

Anthony Richardson was arrested Feb. 17 after an Alpharetta police officer found more than a half-dozen cartridges of oil with a concentration of 91 percent, according to an incident report obtained by AJC.com.

A police officer encountered Richardson in the parking lot of the Extended Stay America hotel on Rock Mill Road, the report said.

“It’s an area where we’ve had car break-ins and it’s also an area where we usually find people in possession of illegal narcotics,” Alpharetta police spokesman Sgt. Howard Miller told Channel 2 Action News.

The officer questioned Richardson, and the man’s behavior tipped off the officer to the potential of elicit activity, Channel 2 reported.

Richardson told the officer he was not staying at the hotel and was waiting on money for a room, according to the report.

The officer saw two handguns on the passenger seat of Richardson’s vehicle, the report said. During a search, the officer found eight THC cartridges and 31 Cyclobenzaprine pills. The pill bottle was labeled with a name other than Richardson’s.

THC oil contains the active ingredient in marijuana. Possession of oil with as high of a THC concentration as the cartridges found in Richardson’s car is a felony, Miller said.

Richardson told the officer he did not realize that the oil contained a high concentration of THC. He also admitted to being an 8-Tray Gangster and said he went by the moniker “Sleepy, the report said.

Richardson was previously convicted of a felony in California. The details of that conviction are not clear.

Richardson was taken to the Fulton County jail, where he is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a controlled substance. He remains in the jail on a $12,500 bond.
