A passenger in a vehicle that crashed on Riverside Parkway in Austell on Tuesday night has died, according to Mike Bowman of the Cobb County police.
Around 11 p.m., officers responded to the collision. Investigators determined that the driver of a gold 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was driving on Riverside Parkway when he lost control and hit a bicyclist, Bowman said. The car ran off the road and hit a tree, causing it to overturn and stop in a nearby parking lot.
Car passenger Ollie Regina Jones, 52, of Austell, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The bicyclist, identified 43-year-old Antonio Walker of Atlanta, was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver, 31-year-old Therman Kilcrease of Austell, was taken to Atlanta Medical Center and treated for injuries from the accident.
The collision remains under investigation.
