DeKalb County schools police are seeking three men in connection with a carjacking at an elementary school that seriously injured a construction worker.

The men, who were not identified, stole the worker’s white Toyota Tundra on Monday as he was doing renovations at Panola Way Elementary School in Stone Mountain, authorities said. The worker suffered significant injuries after he tried to stop the men and was dragged alongside the truck.

The men were driving a gray four-door Mercedes-Benz with tinted windows, officials said. The car has been seen in Lithonia and the Decatur area.

Surveillance footage of both vehicles were released Tuesday morning.

“The suspects are considered armed and dangerous, and individuals who come in contact with the vehicle are directed to call 911,” school officials said in a statement.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Det. M.E. Parks at 678-676-1810 or 678-676-2152. For more information, visit www.dekalbschoolsga.org/public-safety

The injured worker is at a local hospital.

“We are thankful none of the staff members present in the building were harmed, and no students were present,” the school system said in the statement.
