Gwinnett Police have arrested a Buford area man on charges of beating a little girl so badly that he broke her collarbone and cracked multiple ribs.
J.D. Montero, the prosecutor on the case, said the child had wounds over most of her body, including her chest, stomach head, left eye, right side and left leg, according to the arrest warrant.
Police arrested Jalaska J. Earls, 20, Sunday on charges of intentionally and maliciously causing the child excessive physical or mental pain. They charged the child’s mother, Gloria Nesha Stringer, 22, of Flowery Branch, with a lesser felony account of child cruelty for not seeking medical attention for the child.
“She denied having any knowledge of the injuries save six or so on her stomach,” Montero said in the affidavit for the warrant.
Attempts to reach Gwinnett police for further information, including the girl’s condition, were unsuccessful.
