The body of a 33-year-old Marietta woman was found floating in Lake Allatoona Sunday morning, near the Kellogg Creek Road bridge.

Cherokee Sheriff’s Office deputies responded at 11:38 a.m., after a boater reported seeing Sheila Ann Carlotta’s body floating near the beach area of the Kellogg Creek Day Use area, in approximately three feet of water and about 20 feet from shore.

Carlotta was identified Sunday by family members, who confirmed she was swimming in the area on Saturday. Police are still investigating, but do not suspect foul play.

Carlotta was found near the beach area of the Kellogg Creek Day Use area. An autopsy will be performed Tuesday.
