A bicyclist was seriously injured before daybreak Wednesday when he was struck by a vehicle on Cobb Parkway.

According to Marietta police spokesman David Auld, Dorian Robert Stevens was riding a bicycle southbound on Franklin Road and was attempting to cross Cobb Parkway just after 6:30 a.m. when he was hit by a 2005 Infiniti FX35.

Stevens, 22, of Marietta, was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, and was listed in serious but stable condition, Auld said late Wednesday morning.

The driver of the Infiniti, 54-year-old Patrice Jeter of Woodstock, was taken to the hospital for observation, and was in stable condition, Auld said.

Both southbound lanes of Cobb Parkway were closed after the incident, but have since reopened.

Auld said the crash is still under investigation, and any charges are pending.
