With 70-degree temperatures, the last official weekend of Winter felt more like Spring in Atlanta.
But you knew it wasn’t going to last, didn’t you?
Monday’s temperature should hit 70 degrees, but more clouds will move in followed by rain and possible thunderstorms, according to Channel 2 Action News Meteorologist Brad Nitz.
“We start Monday with overcast skies, a few spotty showers possible,” Nitz said. “But better rain chances are going to hold off through the afternoon and evening hours.”
Metro Atlanta and northwest Georgia counties are the most likely to see storms Monday afternoon, Nitz said. Strong winds pose the biggest threat, he said.
“Some of these thunderstorms have the potential to become strong or severe,” Nitz said.
Drier, cooler air moves in for Tuesday and Wednesday, the first day of Spring, Nitz said. On Thursday, temperatures will start in the upper 30s and reach the upper 50s, he said.
