Be prepared for a slower-than-normal evening commute, thanks to scattered showers expected to linger across the metro area into the evening.

Then, get your winter clothes ready. That high temperature in the upper 60s on Monday isn’t expected to last, according to Glenn Burns, Channel 2 Action News chief meteorologist.

The wet weather Monday afternoon was believed to be the cause of a crash involving a tractor-trailer on two passenger vehicles on I-20 westbound in Douglas County, Channel 2 reported.

Monday’s showers will be replaced by sunshine Tuesday, but it will be about 10 degrees cooler, Burns said. Tuesday’s high temperature will reach only the upper 50s, he said.

The mid-November cool down is expected to continue through the work week, as low temperatures dip into the upper 30s at night.

Wednesday’s high will stay in the low 50s and there is a chance of light showers, Burns said.
