The Fulton County Medical Examiner has identified the victim in a Wednesday night fatal shooting in southeast Atlanta.

Corey Echols, 27, of Atlanta, was shot in the head shortly before 8 p.m., Atlanta police said, and died at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Police said they received a 911 call and went to an address on Kipling St. S.E., a residential street across Moreland Avenue from the Starlight Drive-in Theater.

A vehicle that police say may be of interest in the case was recovered later on Lakewood Avenue and was being processed for evidence. But police had not identified any suspects as of Thursday morning.
