A man suspected of killing a Lithonia tattoo artist almost 2 1/2 years ago was in a jail in Texas Saturday awaiting his return to Georgia to face murder charges, authorities said.

The U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force — along with the Bell County, Texas, Organized Crime Unit and Killeen and Harker Heights police departments — had tracked Terrance Lamont Davis to a house in Killeen, Texas. They arrested him moments after he drove away from the house Thursday evening, police said.

Andrew Wayne Fortune, 27, was killed during an August 2011 robbery at his townhome, where he also ran a tattoo business, Black Heart Inc.

At the time, police said at least two men came into Fortune’s home, demanding money. Fortune was shot during a struggle.

Davis’ arrest is the only one that has been announced in the case.
