Amigos for Christ celebrates 15 years of service to poor

The nonprofit community development organization Amigos for Christ will host its first Amigos Family Reunion on Oct. 5 at the new Buford Community Center. The event will celebrate 15 years of service to the poor in Nicaragua. The reunion will allow these volunteers to gather and relive their experiences, celebrate their successes and raise greater awareness of this cause. Events will include free live music by Banks & Shane and Joey McGinn, an eating contest, a photo contest, and other activities that commemorate the history of Amigos for Christ. Food will be available for purchase. The reunion starts at 3 p.m. The community center is at 2200 Buford Highway, Buford.
