Gwinnett’s most camera-friendly alleged pizzeria robber has turned himself in — and police believe his criminal cameo was part of a recurring role.

Scott Everett Burgess, 35, turned himself in at the Suwanee Police Department on Thursday, two days after Gwinnett County police released crystal-clear surveillance footage from a March 25 robbery at the Little Caesars on Hamilton Mill Road. Gwinnett County police spokeswoman Cpl. Michele Pihera said her department received “over a dozen tips” regarding the photos before Burgess was charged.

“The suspect was contacted by family members and encouraged to turn himself in,” Pihera said.

Jail records show Burgess was charged with three counts of armed robbery and four counts of aggravated assault. Pihera said that, in addition to the Little Caesars robbery, Burgess has been tied to crimes at Pete’s Place (a coffee shop on Buford Village Way) and Oxford Cleaners (a dry cleaners on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road).

All three robberies, Pihera said, are believed to have occurred between 6:30 and 10 p.m. on March 25.

As of Friday, Burgess was being held at the Gwinnett County jail without bond.
