A 17-year-old was arrested Monday on a murder charge related to a shooting at a southwest Atlanta gas station earlier this month.

Marion Davenport of Atlanta was taken into custody in connection with a July 13 fatal shooting at a BP station at 516 Lee Street, according to an Atlanta Police Department announcement. Davenport was arrested by the APD’s fugitive unit at a different gas station at 1959 Lakewood Avenue, about five miles south of the location of the shooting.

When police responded to the shooting, they found a man dead at the scene with a wound to the chest, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. Investigators were able to speak with a witness at the time in addition to gathering evidence from the scene.

According to Monday’s announcement, investigators obtained a murder warrant for Davenport on Wednesday, five days before he was located. He has been booked into the Fulton County Jail after he was interviewed by homicide detectives.
