Lilburn will hold a general election on Nov. 2 for two city council seats. State law requires the city to announce the positions, qualifying fees and election schedule by Feb. 1.

Anyone interested in running for one of the two open council seats can plan ahead now to qualify beginning at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 16 until 5 p.m. Aug. 18 in the office of the City Clerk, on the second floor of Lilburn City Hall, 340 Main St. The qualifying fee for council members is $105.

The last day to register and be eligible to vote in this election will be Oct. 4. Advanced (absentee in-person) voting will be held 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Oct. 11 through Oct. 29. The polls will be open on Election Day from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
