Decatur will kick off its Clean Energy Decatur initiative from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday online to develop the city’s plan for a clean energy future.

Supported by Southface Institute and Greenlink Analytics, the initiative will include a series of outreach and education events to inform the development of the Clean Energy Plan in the coming months.

Decatur is committed to protecting its community against the negative impacts of climate change and reducing its contributions to the climate crisis, according to a city statement.

Citizen input is requested to ensure that the city’s plan reflects Decatur’s values and priorities, the statement added.

A series of Decatur 202s, recorded educational sessions led by subject matter experts on clean energy in Decatur and metro Atlanta, will be released throughout the fall and winter to provide a better understanding of the Decatur energy landscape and inform the topics discussed in roundtables.

Decatur will host four online events to introduce the plan development process, set goals and gather community input.

After registering, a confirmation email will be sent about joining the meeting.
