East Cobb Park event by United Military Care

For free, United Military Care will present a “Give Thanks For Those Who Served” from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at East Cobb Park, 3322 Roswell Road, Marietta. Pause to remember the 80th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the 20th anniversary of 9-11, along with all who served in the U.S. Armed Forces and their families who waited on their return. ARMAC Military Appreciation Luncheon

With registration now underway, the Atlanta Regional Military Affairs Council (ARMAC) and the Cobb Chamber will present the 69th Annual ARMAC Military Appreciation Luncheon with Jesse Salazar, U.S. deputy assistant secretary of defense for industrial policy, as the guest speaker.

This Nov. 4 luncheon will be a celebration of Cobb’s military community, recognizing the service and sacrifices of U.S. men and women in uniform. More highlights of the event will be the presentation of the 2021 USO Patriot of the Year Award, a salute to fallen soldiers and recognition of military personnel.

The luncheon will be held at the Cobb Galleria Centre, with registration starting at 10:30 a.m. and the event taking place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.

Registration is open through Nov. 4 at www.cobbchamber.org. Tickets are $60 for an individual and $60 for a military seat donation.

Appointed in February, Salazar leads the Industrial Policy team as they assess, protect and promote the Defense Industrial Base, according to an ARMAC news release.

Marietta Veterans Day Parade

Marietta city officials and the Kiwanis Club of Marietta will honor all veterans at 10:45 a.m. Nov. 11 at the 17th Annual Veterans Day Parade on the Marietta Square. The parade will begin at 10:45 a.m. at Roswell Street Baptist Church, 774 Roswell St., Marietta; march up towards the Marietta Square and back down Lawrence Street with the intention of being on the Square by 11:11 a.m. mariettaga.gov

Kennesaw Military/Veterans Luncheon

Kennesaw city officials will honor the service of military members, past and present, with a free lunch at noon Nov. 11 at the Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive, Kennesaw.

All veterans and active-duty military are invited to attend. No identification will be required.

A small program will include acknowledgments from Kennesaw Mayor Derek Easterling, a special guest speaker, a presentation of colors by the North Cobb-Harrison NJROTC Unit and a special ceremony by the North Cobb American Legion Post 304. Guests are welcome.

This year’s Veterans Day Luncheon is presented by the North Cobb Rotary Club and Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home and provided by Copeland’s.

Lunch will include Cajun fried turkey breast, gravy, cornbread dressing, green beans with ham, macaroni and cheese, mashed sweet potatoes and pumpkin bread pudding. Curbside to-go meals also will be available.

Acworth Veterans Day Ceremony

Acworth city officials will host a Veterans Day Ceremony at 2 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Veterans Memorial, Patriot’s Point, Cauble Park, 4425 Beach St., Acworth. Parking is free.

The service flags of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard surround the American Flag. The concrete dome structure is surrounded by a paver walkway with engraved pavers.

Honor a veteran by purchasing pavers that are available in 4x4 or 8x8 sizes. Order forms can be picked up at the Acworth Parks and Recreation Department Office, Acworth City Hall or downloaded by clicking here.
