Ever forget you told your boss you’ll complete an assignment or forget you committed to a friend’s event? A new Microsoft feature is here to help.

On Thursday, the company added a new feature to its personal digital assistant, "Cortana," aimed at reminding you when you've promised to do something in an email.

According to the company blog, Microsoft is using machine learning to target and highlight the promises you make. A reminder from the personal assistant will pop up saying: "Don't forget you mentioned this."

The feature will be available on Windows 10 PCs in America first, and will later be available on iOS and Android devices, according to Microsoft. Outlook.com and Office 365 accounts will be supported, and the company plans to eventually include Gmail as well.

When you're signed in to Cortana, connect either an Outlook.com or Office 365 account in your Cortana notebook. To check out the feature, Microsoft's blog suggests you try emailing yourself a commitment like "I'll have the report to you on Monday" and look out for the reminder.
