March was an up-and-down month for the metro Atlanta restaurant scene. Multiple beloved restaurants reopened or debuted new locations.

But restaurant closures nearly matched the number of openings, including some popular restaurants that were forced to say goodbye.

Neighbors welcomed back Rumi’s Kitchen in its original location and cheered the resurrection of Eats at Wild Heaven West End. Well-liked pop-up Mushi Ni opened a second location that will be the team’s first full-service restaurant, and Stillfire Brewing saw a huge turnout for its new taproom in Smyrna.

Meanwhile, Rising Son turned out the lights at the end of March thanks to an expiring lease, and Sublime Donuts shut down its Brookhaven outpost after it previously set off alarm bells by cutting back from its round-the-clock hours. Two huge commercial spaces in desirable locations became available with the closures of BrewDog in the Krog District and Hudson Grille in Little Five Points.
