Every year thousands of new residents descend on Athens, mostly in connection with the University of Georgia. Whether you're an undergraduate, master's student or professor, Athens is a college town with a bevy of apartments and short-term housing. So much housing, in fact, that the Athens-Clarke County commission recently passed one-year moratoria on building new student-focused apartment complexes and bars.
