Dollar General hiring 500 employees for new distribution center in Georgia

Dollar General is bringing new career opportunities to Georgia, because its hiring 500 people for its new distribution center in Jackson.

The discount retailer recently announced that it is hosting a hiring event Saturday, May 20 at the Red Devil Hill Gym. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the company’s management team will be onsite to inform interested applicants about full-time career opportunities.

“The opening of the company’s Jackson distribution center is an exciting opportunity for potential employees to join our team and grow with the company,” Niki Stinespring, Dollar General’s Jackson distribution center senior HR manager, said in a press release. “We believe our employees are one of our greatest strengths and we look forward to welcoming new employees to the Dollar General team in the coming months.”

Candidates are encouraged to dress professionally and apply for desired positions online before attending the job fair. Openings range from operations managers and human resources representatives to sales associates and store supervisors.

In May 2016, Dollar General revealed that it would be building a new distribution in Jackson, which is south of Atlanta. The facility is expected to be completed in summer 2017.
