Atlanta is one of the top 25 U.S. cities where pay goes the furthest, according to a recent Glassdoor study.

The job resource site gathered its research by comparing the median base salary in the 50 most populated American cities to the median house value.

More than any other category, housing cost - whether mortgage or rent - was the largest expenditure for people across all U.S. cities from 2013 to 2015, according to 2015 figures released by the U.S. Department of Labor in August.

In Atlanta, the Glassdoor.com team said the cost-of-living ratio is 37 percent with a median base salary of $60,000 and a median house value of $163,000. Also, within a 100-mile radius of Atlanta, the number of open jobs are nearly 91,000.
