Phedras de Blondel, a 12-year-old show horse, was found slaughtered near his home in Palmetto, Fla., authorities said Monday.

Debbie Stephens, the gelding’s owner, noticed the horse was missing on Sunday from his stall.

She later found his dismembered body near a broken fence.
