A mother and her 11-month-old daughter were OK Wednesday after being abducted from an Atlanta hotel overnight, police said.

Atlanta police spokesman Warren Pickard said the woman told police she and her child were abducted from a hotel and taken to an apartment in the 100 block of Jackson Street.

Pickard did not have the name of the hotel, but said it was in police Zone 2, which includes Buckhead and much of northeast Atlanta.

He said the woman was later taken to a different location, and was able to get away from the kidnapper and make it to Grady Memorial Hospital.

The woman, whose name has not been released, told police her child was still at the apartment on Jackson Street.

Officers “were able to locate the child after knocking on several apartments and arrested one female that was in possession of the child,” Pickard said.

He said the child was found in good health.
