Metro Atlantans were enjoying a break in the rain Tuesday afternoon, but another broad area of showers was tracking through Alabama toward north Georgia, and more rain is forecast for overnight.
Meanwhile, forecasters warned that gusty winds could combine with the saturated soil to bring down a few trees. Georgia Power reported 41 outages affecting 460 customers across the state at 1 p.m.
Winds were gusting as high as 33 mph Tuesday, according to Channel 2 Action News.
Meteorologist Karen Minton said the chance of rain is 90 percent Tuesday, diminishing to 60 percent Wednesday before ending later during the afternoon.
Thursday through Saturday will be mostly sunny and dry, Minton said.
Temperatures will remain steady in the mid-50s Tuesday and Tuesday night before climbing into the low 70s Wednesday, she said.
Highs will be in the low 70s Thursday and Friday and in the upper 60s Saturday, with morning lows in the 50s each day, Minton said.
