It looks as if most bettors are taking the Falcons and giving the points against the Seahawks in Saturday’s NFC divisional playoff game at the Georgia Dome.
The Falcons opened as 3 ½-point favorites at some sportsbooks late Saturday night. By Sunday morning the line was up to 4 at many books and by Monday, the consensus line was Falcons --4 ½.
As of Monday evening 61 percent of the money wagered at Bovada.lv was backing the Falcons to cover, according to a spokesman for the online gambling site. Bovada.lv opened the line at Falcons -4.5. The Falcons were 11-5 against the spread this season.

Bookmakers typically move the line to induce even betting on both sides (they earn a commission on losing bets) but sometimes will hold the line if they believe the public is on the wrong side. It will be interesting to see if the line moves more toward the Seahawks later in the week if most of the money continues to back the Falcons.
The Seahawks beat the Falcons 26-24 on Oct. 16 in Seattle they’ve been inconsistent, mostly because of their inefficient offense. Seattle was 3-4-1 on the road this season while averaging just 15.9 points per game. The Falcons have the top-ranked offense in the NFL and a defense that improved over the final six weeks.
