In Class AAAAA, Gainesville and Greenbrier swap positions meaning the Wolfpack are now No. 1 after No. 2 Gainesville slipped 5-4 against Grayson. South Carolina-commit Kyle Jacobsen has powered No. 4 Allatoona from the dish. The hard-hitting outfielder is batting .440 with 11 RBIs through seven games. Brady Eeles has an opportunity to go D-I and is batting .458.

No. 2 Buford, the defending AAAA state camps, finished 3-1 at the Perfect Game Showcase. Carrollton drops out of the poll after slotting in at No. 7 last week. Back-to-back losses to Newnan and Heritage-Catoosa plummets their record to 3-5. Thomas County Central debuts in the rankings at No. 10. They are powered by Doug Smith and Stone Stephenson offensively while Johnathan Robinson anchors the staff.

Westside-Augusta and Decatur both fall out of the AAA polls. Replacing them is No. 9 Cedartown and No. 10 Jackson County. Slugging first baseman Joel Ellis along with Chris Griggs and Andrew Miller pace the offense for coach Tommy Fountain. Calhoun has also dropped out and is replaced by No. 8 Dawson County who has won 9-straight since a season opening loss to Gilmer. The Tigers’ resume is highlighted by a 4-3 win over No. 3 Jefferson.

No. 1 Holy Innocents’ takes over for No. 2 Wesleyan in AA. The Wolves have lost 6-2 to Class A-Private power Hebron Christian and 11-4 to North Gwinnett. No. 5 Benedictine jumps four spots following wins over No. 9 Bryan County 7-4 and No. 10 Jeff Davis 4-0.

In Class A, three public schools are making noise as title contenders in No. 5 Schley County, No. 6 Taylor County and No. 7 Treutlen. Private schools No. 1 King’s Ridge and No. 2 Hebron Christian are the front runners to meet in state.
