Star running back Elijah Holyfield will miss four to six weeks with a stress fracture in his left foot, according to DawgNation's Chris Kirschner.
Holyfield sat out Woodward Academy’s 58-0 win over Clarkston on Friday. If he sits out the full six weeks, he would be back for the regular-season finale against Carrollton.
The son of boxing great Evander Holyfield, Elijah also sat out the season opener with a toe injury, but did play the last two weeks. He has committed to Georgia.
Holyfield has rushed for 313 yards on 36 carries with six touchdowns in two games this season.
Woodward Academy quarterback Ryan Glover threw touchdown passes to Joshua Johnson and Stephen Elliott, and Stephen Witmer and Tahj Gary each scored two touchdowns for the War Eagles.
Woodward Academy is 4-0 for the first time since 2010 and ranked third in Class AAAA. The War Eagles host Eagle’s Landing Christian on Friday.
Clarkston has lost 15 consecutive games.
