Class AAA-AAAAAA resumed their 16-wrestler brackets with the semifinals on Friday and Class A-AA narrowed down its field of eight wrestlers to set the stage for Saturday’s championship matchups.

Class A Commerce is on the brink of history after an incredible opening day. The defending champs dominated last year’s field with 283 points as a wrestler finished in the top four of every weight class and a school-record eight wrestlers were crowned individual champions. After Friday, all 14 wrestlers advanced to the finals, guaranteeing at least 269 points and the possibility to top last year’s individual champion mark. Tucker Flint (106), Kole Burchett (113), Jacob Brewer (120), Dylan Deaton (126), Dalton Flint (132), Austin Brock (138), Owen Brown (145), Nick Patrick (152), Chase Forrester (160), Knox Allen (170) Cole Chancey (182), Dontavious Mosley (195), Michael Patton (220) and Cade Ridley (285) will lead the Commerce-laden Class A finals Saturday night.

In Class AA, defending champion Social Circle scored 189 points as Josh Engstrom (106), Levi Leach (126), Travis Tyson (132), James Corasaniti (138), Reid Harris (145), Trey Paschal (160), Cade Lackey (170), Cameron Paschal (182) and David Engstrom (195) advanced to the finals of their respective weight classes.

Jefferson is set to take home the program's 20th traditional wrestling title tomorrow. The Dragons lead the Class AAA field with an insurmountable 229.5 guaranteed points. Class AAAA will be tight as Gilmer (125.5), North Hall (116.0) and Buford (107.5) will contend for the title on Saturday. Camden County is guaranteed 210.5 points in Class AAAAA and has a sizeable edge over Woodland-Bartow, which currently sits second with 150.0 points.

Archer leads Class AAAAAA with 148.5 points to North Forsyth’s 84 and Mountain View’s 82 points. The Tigers can complete the program’s fourth consecutive sweep of titles tomorrow with a lineup of four defending individual state champs that includes Quinn Miller (220), Daniel Bullard (182), Thomas Bullard (170) and Chris Diaz (145).
