When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Buck Godfrey Stadium, Decatur

Records, rankings: Blessed Trinity is 9-0 overall, 5-0 in Region 4-AAA Div. B and No. 2; Cedar Grove is 8-1, 5-0 in 4-AAA Div. A and No. 3.

Last meeting: Blessed Trinity won 28-21 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. This matchup will decide the region title for the second consecutive season. In 2014, Blessed Trinity scored the winning touchdown on a 1-yard QB sneak by Conor Davis with two minutes left. Cedar Grove RB LaBron Morris rushed for 153 yards, and Blessed Trinity RB Milton Shelton rushed for 163. All three of those players are back. 2. Shelton has rushed for 1,168 yards and 21 touchdowns. Davis is 60-of-105 passing for 1,127 yards and 14 touchdowns. Blessed Trinity freshman DE J.D. Bertrand has a team-leading 7.5 sacks. The leading tackler is LB Garrett Dupuis, who has a couple of 100-yard rushing games in spot RB duty. Blessed Trinity has no player with reported Division I offers outside of the service academies. 3. Morris has rushed for 1,267 yards and 17 touchdowns. Cedar Grove QB Jelani Woods is 78-of-120 passing or 1,248 yards and 13 touchdowns. Jesse Reverio has 34 catches for 621 yards. Cedar Grove allows 62.3 yards rushing per game. The defense has three four-star recruits - DT Antwuan Jackson, LB Elysee Mbem-Bossee and DB Tre Shaw - although the leading tackler is LB Elijah Bandy.

Callaway at Central (Carrollton)

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Roy Richards Memorial Stadium, Carrollton

Records, rankings: Callaway is 8-1 overall, 4-0 in Region 5-AAA and No. 8; Central is 9-0, 4-0 and No. 4.

Last meeting: Central won 40-34 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. This game will decide the 5-AAA championship, as was the case last year, when Central won to capture its first region title since 1987. Central's Kaleel Abdusalaan blocked a field goal with two seconds left, and Dajour Riddle returned it 85 yards for the winning score. Callaway's football history dates to 1996, and the Cavaliers have won five region titles. 2. Callaway's Cedric Maynard is the state's second-leading rusher, with 1,928 yards on 159 carries (12.1 ypc). He has rushed for at least 100 yards in every game and scored 21 touchdowns. Dylan Johnson has filled in at quarterback since Braylon Sanders suffered a knee injury against Cedartown on Oct. 8. In the past two games, Johnson is an efficient 13-of-16 passing for 253 yards. 3. Central also relies on its running game, which accounts for 254.1 of the team's 304.7 yards per game. Damarious Owensby has rushed for 1,173 yards and 15 touchdowns on 133 carries. Byron Brown, Joe Simpkins and QB Jaleel Terry get about six carries per game each. Terry is 30-of-75 passing for 455 yards.

Colquitt County at Camden County

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Chris Gilman Stadium, Kingsland

Records, rankings: Colquitt County is 9-0 overall, 4-0 in Region 1-AAAAAA and No. 1; Camden County is 9-0, 4-0 and No. 8.

Last meeting: Colquitt County won 28-24 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. The 2014 game featured seven ties and lead changes. Colquitt scored the winning touchdown on Sihiem King's 48-yard run with 7:49 left. The game was meaningless in the standings as Colquitt had clinched its first region title since 1999, while Camden had been eliminated from the postseason for the first time since 1988. 2. With the graduation of 2,000-yard rusher King, Colquitt is more of a passing team this season, averaging 246.3 yards by air, 167.7 on the ground. In 2014, the Packers were about 200 each way. Colquitt QB Chase Parrish is 125-of-177 passing for 1,861 yards and 23 touchdowns. WR Kiel Pollard has 44 catches for 667 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has scored six rushing touchdowns, usually from inside the 10-yard line. 3. Camden has three of the four leading rushers in a region that has evolved into a passing league. They are Harrison Poole (71-586-8), Brandon McMaster (93-545-7) and Mickey Packard (69-461-3). QB Antonio Hamilton has completed only 37 of 77 attempts, but 10 have gone for touchdowns.

ECI at Savannah Christian

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Pooler Stadium, Pooler

Records, rankings: Emanuel County Institute is 8-1 overall, 4-0 in Region 3-A Div. B and No. 10; Savannah Christian is 8-1, 5-0 in 3-A Div. A and No. 6.

Last meeting: Emanuel County Institute won 48-14 in 2012.

Three things to know: 1. This is the region championship game in 3-A. Both teams have won two region titles (Savannah Christian in 2009 and 2011; ECI in 2008 and 2012) in the past seven seasons. Calvary Day was the two-time defending region champion but finished second in the subregion this year after losing to Savannah Christian 14-3. 2. ECI has won eight consecutive games since losing to Class AA playoff team Swainsboro 29-28 in the opener. The Bulldogs are led by RB Ricky Lee, who has rushed for 969 yards and 17 touchdowns on 100 carries. QB Rhett Gay is 77-of-113 passing for 1,307 yards with 19 TDs and two interceptions. 3. Savannah Christian's player to watch is RB/DB/KR Demetris Robertson, rated No. 1 at the athlete position by 247Sports. In a 42-12 victory against Claxton last week, he returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown off a lateral and had three other scores (runs of 67 and 72 yards, punt return of 55 yards) negated by penalties. A.J. Davis and Ben Jackson both ran for two touchdowns against Claxton.

Etowah at Roswell

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Ray Manus Stadium, Roswell

Records, rankings: Etowah is 8-1 overall, 6-1 in Region 5-AAAAAA and No. 10; Roswell is 9-0, 7-0 and No. 3.

Last meeting: Etowah won 28-18 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. Roswell would win its first region title since 2010 with a victory. Etowah probably would need to win and for Walton to lose. In the event of a three-way tie, the tiebreaker involves a complicated strength-of-schedule component. It currently favors Roswell. 2. Roswell averages more than 400 total yards per game (191.2 passing, 215.9 rushing). QB Quintarius Neely is 112-of-187 passing for 1,644 yards and 25 touchdowns with only one interception. Sheldon Evans has rushed for 1,078 yards and 18 touchdowns. Jayden Comma has 11 TD receptions. Roswell's defense, led by AJC Super 11 LB Tre Lamar, had not allowed more than 14 points in a game until a 42-21 victory over Cherokee last week. 3. Etowah is more clearly a running team, although sophomore QB Patrick Ferris (70-of-113 passing, 1,285 yards, 13 TDs) is efficient. RB Tyran Devezin, a preseason all-state pick, has rushed for 1,231 yards and 18 touchdowns. The defense, led by preseason all-state DB Stuart Head, is allowing 20.3 points per game but got its first shutout last week (Wheeler, 41-0) since 2012.

Houston County at Northside (W. Robins)

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, McConnell-Talbert Stadium, Warner Robins

Records, rankings: Houston County is 8-1 overall, 7-1 in Region 2-AAAAA and No. 8; Northside is 9-0, 8-0 and No. 1.

Last meeting: Northside won 34-33 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. A victory would give Northside its 13th region title in 18 years and 15th overall. Houston County will win the region if it beats Northside and Jones County loses to Warner Robins tonight. Wins by Houston and Jones would create a three-way tie for first place. The tiebreaker would be points allowed in games among the three, with a cap of 21 points. 2. Houston County is 0-17 all-time against Northside. The Bears average 436.4 yards per game (284.1 passing, 152.3 rushing) and are led by junior QB Jake Fromm, who is 142-of-248 passing for 2,498 yards with 22 touchdowns. Leading rushers are Christopher Brinson (88 carries, 601 yards, 10 TDs) and Jaeven West (74-489-11). Houston County has four receivers with at least 18 catches, 348 yards and two touchdowns. 3. Defending state champion Northside has won 20 consecutive games, including last year's game against Houston County that was won on a 3-yard run by Willie Jordan (since graduated) with 49 seconds remaining. Desean Dinkins has taken over as the featured runner this year and has 1,072 yards on 139 carries. QB Tobias Oliver has rushed for 613 yards, passed for 823 and had a hand in 18 touchdowns.

Northgate at Stockbridge

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Tiger Stadium, Stockbridge

Records, rankings: Northgate is 9-0 overall, 6-0 in Region 4-AAAAA Div. A and No. 7; Stockbridge is 9-0, 5-0 in 4-AAAAA Div. B and No. 3.

Last meeting: This is the teams' first meeting.

Three things to know: 1. This is the region championship game in 4-AAAAA and one of only two games in the state this week matching 9-0 teams (Camden County vs. Colquitt County is the other). Stockbridge beat Drew last year for the region title, its second in school history. Northgate won region titles in 2000 and 2011. 2. Northgate has the No. 1-rated offense (44.3 points per game) and defense (5.8 ppg) in Class AAAAA. The Vikings held previously unbeaten Starr's Mill to 139 total yards last week in a 21-7 victory that decided the subregion title. Junior RB Ton Evans rushed for 215 yards and three touchdowns in that game and has 1,308 yards and 18 TDs on 137 carries for the season. 3. Stockbridge had never had a 10-win season until 2011, but a victory this week would give the Tigers their fourth consecutive season of double-digit wins and their first 10-0 regular season in the history of the program, which began in 1964. DE Charles Wiley, an AJC Super 11 pick and Ole Miss commitment, had four tackles for losses in a 62-0 win against Union Grove last week.

Peachtree Ridge at Mill Creek

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Markham Field at Mill Creek Community Stadium, Hochston

Records, rankings: Peachtree Ridge is 7-2 overall, 6-0 in Region 7-AAAAAA and No. 6; Mill Creek is 9-0, 6-0 and No. 5.

Last meeting: Mill Creek won 34-7 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. The winner will be the region champion. Mill Creek, opened in 2004, has never won a region title. Peachtree Ridge's only region title came in 2008, two years after winning a state title as a No. 4 seed. The road team has won each of the past six meetings between these two. 2. Peachtree Ridge has no real stars on offense. QB Fred Payton is 61-of-94 passing for 805 yards and seven touchdowns. The leading rushers are Malik Staples (77-416-5) and Marquez Jackson (105-601-5), although Nigel Warrior, a blue-chip recruit used primarily as a safety, rushed for 110 yards and scored two long touchdowns last week against Collins Hill. LB Breon Dixon, a four-star recruit, had three tackles for losses and two sacks (giving him 15.5 and six on the season) against Collins Hill. 3. Mill Creek has a balanced offense (171.4 per game rushing, 181.8 passing). QB Cameron Turley is 103-of-173 passing for 1,460 yards and 10 touchdowns. RB Joe Thomas is averaging 127 yards rushing since starter Daniel Leconte was lost to an injury three games ago. Thomas rushed for 181 yards against Norcross last week. Mill Creek has shut out five opponents and allows 4.9 points per game. The defense has 36 sacks.

Stephenson at Mays

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Lakewood Stadium, Atlanta

Records, rankings: Stephenson is 8-1 overall, 5-0 in Region 6-AAAAA Div. A and No. 5; Mays is 9-0, 4-0 in 6-AAAAA Div. B and No. 2.

Last meeting: Mays won 13-9 in 2013.

Three things to know: 1. Stephenson is making its second consecutive appearance in the 6-AAAAA championship. The Jaguars are seeking their first region title since 2009. Mays was the region's No. 3 seed in the state playoffs but advanced to the championship game. Mays won its only region title in 2003. 2. Both teams rank among the top four in scoring offense in Class AAAAA. Stephenson (41.3 points per game) is the running team, averaging 251.6 yards on the ground. Jaylen Marson-Knight is the leading rusher with 892 yards and 16 TDs on 118 carries. Mays (40.9 ppg) is the passing team. Quarterbacks B.J. Phillips and Santonio Mapp are a combined 130-of-195 passing for 2,124 yards and 30 touchdowns. WR Randrecous Davis has 41 receptions for 751 yards and 13 TDs. 3. Stephenson (9.2 ppg) and Mays (8.4) also rank in the top five in the class in points allowed. Stephenson has five shutouts this season, including four in its five subregion games. Mays has held seven of nine opponents to a touchdown or less. Leading tacklers include LB Amari Andrews and DE Michael Pitts of Stephenson and linebackers Tobias Little and Myles Reid of Mays.

Wesleyan at Greater Atlanta Christian

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Spartan Stadium, Norcross

Records, rankings: Wesleyan is 8-1 overall, 5-1 in Region 6-AA and No. 9; Greater Atlanta Christian is 8-1, 6-0 and No. 2.

Last meeting: Greater Atlanta Christian won 41-0 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. The winner will be the region champion. GAC leads the series 10-1, although the schools didn't play from 2008 to 2011, when Wesleyan was 44-8. 2. Wesleyan averages 171.1 yards rushing and 138.7 passing per game. RB Jordan Argilagos has rushed for 908 yards and eight touchdowns. Banks Ramsey, rated the No. 3 pro-style QB prospect nationally among juniors by Rivals, is 98-of-146 passing for 1,073 yards and eight touchdowns. LB Drew Aspinwall leads in tackles (86, six for losses). Wesleyan has an excellent pair of cornerbacks, Cole Mannion (five interceptions) and Jordan Mack (committed to Virginia). 3. GAC averages 204.4 yards rushing and 179.6 passing per game. QB Davis Mills is 94-of-158 for 1,538 yards and 13 touchdowns. The leading rushers are Alex Rowe (102-612-3) and Marcus Young (86-632-9). LB Aiden Jarrett is the leading tackler. OL Devin Cochran is committed to Vanderbilt.
