Rayvan Teague, the 200-game winner who resigned as Carrollton's football coach earlier this year, has taken a job in South Carolina as an athletics director and assistant principal, the Times-Georgian of Carrollton reported today.
Teague will work at Westside High in Anderson. He was hired by superintendent Tom Wilson, who brought Teague to Carrollton as football coach in 2002 while superintendent of Carrollton City Schools.
“It’s going to be nice and a bit of a challenge to take over that role (of athletics director), but releasing the football side of it is definitely going to allow me to put even more professionalism with what I’m trying to do,” Teague told the Times-Georgian.
Teague’s record in 24 seasons as a Georgia head coach is 220-69-1. He won a state title at Swainsboro in 2000 and led Carrollton to the state finals in 2010 and 2013.
