Gwinnett County put four teams in the Class AAAAAA quarterfinals last year, and its teams won the past four championships in the highest classification. This year, the county’s hopes rest solely on Archer after Grayson, Dacula and Central Gwinnett were eliminated last week. Archer faces a tough test at home this week against a hot Hillgrove team that has averaged 46 points per game since a stunning loss to Harrison. But look for Archer to keep Gwinnett’s hopes alive for at least one more week. Also expect the other two top-ranked teams from the county – Buford in AAAA and Greater Atlanta Christian in AA – to reach the semifinals.
