Jake Fromm of Houston County continues to lead GHSF Daily's Player of the Year Watch. New members of the POY Watch top five this week are Lee County DL Aubrey Solomon and Liberty County DB Richard LeCounte.

1. QB Jake Fromm, Houston County: Fromm continues his pursuit of state passing records. He was 24-of-35 for 309 yards and three touchdowns in a 28-24 victory over Spalding last week. His previous low for yards in a game this season was 396. For the season, Fromm is 147-of-216 for 2,545 yards and 28 touchdowns with two interceptions. He is 1,697 yards behind the current Georgia leader in career passing yards, Deshaun Watson of Gainesville. Rated the No. 4 pro-style quarterback prospect in the country, Fromm is committed to Georgia. Houston County is 6-0 and ranked No. 1 in Class AAAAAA.

2. QB Trevor Lawrence, Cartersville: Lawrence was 18-of-31 passing for 300 yards and five touchdowns in a 44-6 victory over Cedartown. For the season, Lawrence is 91-of-146 for 1,431 yards and 18 touchdowns with three interceptions. Lawrence is the No. 1 junior prospect nationally. Cartersville is 5-0 and ranked No. 1 in AAAA.

3. DL Aubrey Solomon, Lee County: Solomon had 17 tackles, four for losses, two sacks, four "big hits" and two QB hurries in a 37-7 victory over Thomas County Central. For the season, Solomon has 47 tackles, nine for losses, seven sacks, 10 QB hurries and 14 big hits. Lee County is 5-0 and ranked No. 3 in AAAAAA.

4. DB Richard LeCounte, Liberty County: LeCounte had nine tackles and scored three touchdowns, one on a 70-yard kickoff return, in a 55-12 victory over New Hampstead. For the season, LeCounte has 511 all-purpose yards and nine touchdowns on just 22 touches. That does not count his 60 yards passing and a TD pass or a 29-yard interception return. LeCounte has six TD receptions and three TD returns. He has 31 tackles, two for losses, and the one interception. LeCounte is the consensus No. 1 safety prospect in the country. He is committed to Georgia. Liberty County is 4-0 and ranked No. 4 in AAA.

5. RB Sheldon Evans, Roswell: Evans rushed for 48 yards on nine carries in just two quarters in a 47-0 victory over Archer. For the season, he has rushed for 505 yards and five touchdowns on 74 carries and caught a 22-yard TD pass. Evans rushed for 1,909 and 1,829 yards the past two seasons. He is a consensus 3-star recruit with several offers from FBS schools. Roswell is 4-0 and ranked No. 1 in Class AAAAAAA.

Others: Gordon Lee RB Drew Cobb rushed for 249 yards and four touchdowns on 33 carries in a 49-26 victory over Christian Heritage last week. Cobb has rushed for a state-best 1,069 yards and 19 touchdowns on 125 carries (8.6 ypc) in his team's 4-1 start. Cobb has another 187 yards and three touchdowns receiving. ... Cook RB Brandon Doe rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries in a 43-18 victory over Thomasville last week. Doe has rushed for 1,025 yards on 104 carries (9.9 ypc). Cook is 2-3. ... Griffin QB Tylan Morton was 21-of-32 passing for 399 yards and two touchdowns in a 56-21 victory over Whitewater. Morton is 116-for-167 (69.5 percent) for 1,850 yards and 16 touchdowns with two interceptions for No. 5 Griffin (5-0) of AAAAA. ... Grady QB Caylin Newton passed for 392 yards and six touchdowns - both career highs - in a 54-0 victory over Decatur. Newton is 90-of-126 passing (71.4 percent) for 1,545 yards and 17 touchdowns with just one interception for No. 8 Grady (4-1) of AAAAA. Newton also has 370 yards and five touchdowns rushing. ... Macon County QB K'hari Lane threw for five touchdowns for the third consecutive game in a 63-27 victory over Taylor County. Lane is 64-of-105 passing (61.0 percent) for 1,272 yards and 19 touchdowns for the No. 1-ranked team in the Class A public-school division. ... Etowah RB Tyray Devezin has rushed for 848 yards, the most in the highest class, on 93 carries for the 4-1 Eagles.
