St. Pius' Asia Durr named to McDonald's All-American team

St. Pius star Asia Durr was named a McDonald’s All-American on Wednesday, another elite honor for one of the state’s all-time greats. Durr, a 5-10 left-handed guard who has signed with Louisville, will suit up for the East squad in the McDonald’s All-American on April at the United Center in Chicago. Durr is St. Pius’ career scoring leading with 2,452 points, heading into tonight’s game against Lithonia.

Whitewater’s Jada Coggins poured in 32 points in the Wildcats’ 43-40 win over Carrollton on Tuesday.  Coggins is averaging 25.2 points in Region 5-AAA play. The win moved Whitewater into a tie for first place with Carrollton in the region. Whitewater hosts Troup County tonight; Carrollton hosts Sandy Creek.
