Class AAA

Oconee County 36, Jefferson 35 (2OT)

How the game was won: Both teams took turns battling back from deficits until host Oconee Country decided the game had to come to an end one way or another in double-overtime. The Warriors never trailed until the second extra frame, but they answered Jefferson's score with a touchdown of their own to make the score 35-34 in favor of the Dragons. That's when Oconee County went for a decisive two-point conversion and tight end Cooper Saunders ran in a reverse for a dramatic 36-35 win.

Top performers: In addition to his late-game heroics, Saunders caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Zeb Noland to give the Warriors a 14-7 lead in the second quarter. ... Noland rushed for two touchdowns, including one in the second overtime. He also tossed another scoring strike to Ty Paschal to put Oconee County in front 21-7 in the third. ... Gavin Adcock got the scoring started by returning a fumble to the endzone for the Warriors. ... All five of Jefferson's touchdowns came on runs by Colby Wood.
