Here’s a look at a few of the top games this weekend, as well as a handful of others of note.

No. 1 Mt. Paran Christian (4-0) at Pinecrest Christian (3-0).   The top-ranked team in the AJC poll and defending private school state champs, winners of their last 18 games, will face the team with the top Georgia High School Association/MaxPreps private school power rating at the moment.  MPC is led by Player of the Year candidate RB/DB Taylor Trammell. The Georgia Tech baseball commit has three interceptions on defense to go with 764 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns. Pinecrest is seeking its second consecutive trip to the state playoffs since joining the GHSA in 2010.

No. 3 Eagle's Landing Christian Academy (3-2) at Class AAAA No. 3 Woodward Academy (4-0).  ELCA looks to continue its "revenge tour" against the War Eagles. Last season, the Chargers dropped their first six games – all non-region contests – four of which were to ranked opponents from higher classifications. One of those losses was to Woodward, 27-7. ELCA thumped Class AAAA Whitewater Friday, 38-0, payback for last season's 21-7 defeat. The Chargers hope to do the same to Woodward, which will be without star running back Elijah Holyfield, who is sitting out with a broken bone in his foot.

No. 6 Landmark Christian at Class AAA No. 8 Central-Carrollton (4-0). Landmark will try to knock off an opponent from Class AAA  for the second consecutive week, after downing Class AAA Josey last Friday, 35-13, on the strength of a 300-yard, two-touchdown rushing effort by junior RB/DB Lofton Tidwell.  Central is 25-4 since head coach Rico Zachary took over in 2013, after going 9-22 the previous three seasons.

No. 7 Charlton County (3-0) at Turner County (4-0). Ashburn, located about 40 minutes east of Albany, will be rocking for the biggest regular season game for the hometown Rebels in recent memory. Turner County is 4-0 for the first time since 2000, and will look to pull the upset over perennial power Charlton County, which advanced to the public school semi finals last season. Charlton has won six of the last seven meetings with Turner, including a 48-16 thumping last season.

No. 2 Prince Avenue Christian (4-0) vs. Hebron Christian (3-1)

No. 4 Irwin County (2-1-1) vs. Telfair County (2-2)

No. 10 Lincoln County (4-0) at First Presbyterian Day (2-1)

Athens Academy (4-0) vs. Towns County (1-3)
