Keyshawn Lowe turned Peach County’s showdown into a beatdown.

The senior running back rushed 30 times for 295 yards and scored six touchdowns as No. 5 Peach County waxed No. 9 Westside Macon 49-16, giving the Trojans the Region 2-AAA championship.

Lowe scored on runs of 36, 20, 30, 75, 91 and 2 yards and Peach (10-0) secured the region’s No. 1 seed for the state playoffs. Peach finished with 322 yards rushing and added 54 passing from quarterback Robert Allen, who also scored on a 1-yard run.

With the game tied at 7-7, Lowe scored three touchdowns before the half to give Peach a 28-7 lead. Westside scored nine unanswered points in the third period to cut the lead to 28-16, but Lowe scored three times in the fourth quarter to put it away.

Westside (8-1) quarterback Marcell Williams completed 11 of 31 passes for 137 yards and ran for two touchdowns.

Central Carroll runs over Rockmart

Jayleen Terry ran for 188 yards and Byron Brown ran for 102 as No. 9 Central Carroll overpowered Rockmart 45-6. The Lions also got 80 rushing yards from Kyle Terrell and totaled 502 yards on the ground .

The Central defense was anchored by Trace Musick (11 tackles) and Rick Dyer (10 tackles, one interception).

The win sets up a showdown with Callaway for the Region 5-AAA championship.

Big plays spark Jefferson to win

No. 4 Jefferson used a series of big plays to turn aside Oconee County 26-16.

The Dragons (9-0) scored on runs of 60 and 12 yards from Sammy Williams. Jefferson quarterback Evan Shirreffs connected with Dalton Hill for touchdown passes of 97 and 63 yards.

The win sets up a showdown with No. 9 Hart County for the Region 8-AAA championship.

Washington County rolls up 56

The No.1-ranked Golden Hawks continue to power their way to the playoffs with a 56-3 win over Hephzibah. It was the fourth straight 50-point game for Washington County (9-0), which has scored no fewer than 31 points in a game this season. The Hawks are averaging 52.1 points.

Blessed Trinity gets third shutout

No. 3 Blessed Trinity picked up its third shutout of the season, a 31-0 win over Decatur. The Titans (9-0) were paced by quarterback Conor Davis, who threw touchdown passes to Pat Jasinski and Chris Siebert. Milton Shelton and Elijah Hamilton added touchdown runs.

Malcome goes over 1,000 yards in Westminster win

Sophomore Zay Malcome rushed 18 times for 223 yards and scored three touchdowns in No. 6 Westminster’s 27-9 win over Washington. The final touchdown, a 73-yarder in the fourth quarter, put Malcome over the 1,000 yard barrier.

West Hall closes in on 7-AAA title

Kwon Williams rushed 17 times for 162 yards and intercepted two passes to lead West Hall (8-1) to a 23-7 win over Banks County. Tyquan Staham picked up 72 rushing yards and Bradley Hodgson kicked three field goals.

The Spartans will clinch the Region 7-AAA with a win next week against Lumpkin County.

Watson, Ashe spark East Hall win

Devin Watson and Jacques Ashe each had a hand in three touchdowns to help surging East Hall to a 38-20 win over Fannin County. Watson ran for 176 yards and two touchdowns and threw for a score. Ashe rushed for 174 yards and three touchdowns.

Fannin County got 161 rushing yards from Tyler Beavers and quarterback Brad Davis ran for a score and passed for another.

Central Macon remains in playoff picture

Central Macon remained in the Region 2-AAA playoff picture by beating Rutland 37-21. Quarterback Derrick Evans completed 13 of 20 passes for 216 yards and three touchdowns. Chris Sparks caught four passes for 137 yards, including touchdowns of 47 and 67 yards.

Pierce wins shootout with Dodge

Quarterbacks Stetson Bennett and Marquise Freeman each had a hand in four touchdowns on Friday and Pierce County won a 55-36 shootout over Dodge County in Blackshear.

Freeman scored on a runs of 5 and 1 yard and threw a 16-yard TD pass to Josh Henderseon and a 20-yarder to Blake Chancey. Freeman ran for a 2-yard TD and threw a 34-yard TD pass to Chancey, a 53-yarder to Michael Bush and a 13-yarder to Henderson.

Bennett completed 15 of 24 passes for 247 yards, while Freeman completed 7 of 11 for 126. The Bears (7-2) threw for 373 yards and ran for 80. Chancey had eight catches for 153 yards.

Dodge (7-2) was led by quarterback Landon Martin, who completed 7 of 13 passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 68 yards and another score. Kyle Glover rushed for 84 yards and one touchdown and Roscoe Wilcox rushed for 61 yards, as the Indians ran for 249 yards.

The outcome means Pierce County, Dodge County and Appling County finished tied for second place in Region 1-AAA Division A.
