Harrison, which last week won its region title, continued to gain steam heading into the state tournament by winning the Billy Peek Invitational.
The Hoyas had a 36-hole total of 586, three shots better than Lambert. Cambridge finished third at 599.
The medalist was Austin Manville of Peachtree Ridge, who had rounds of 68-70 for a 138, giving him a one-shot victory over Ben Shipp of Greater Atlanta Christian.
Harrison was led by Luke Schneiderjans with a 140 and also counted a 143 from Sam Maryland. They both shot 68 on the second day.
The tournament is named in honor the school’s former Hall of Fame golf coach.
The first round was played at Chateau Elan, the second at Brookstone Country Club. Corporate sponsors were able to fund a $750 scholarship, which went to Brennan Bogdanovich of Lambert High.
Sectionals set for Monday
Golf teams who were unable to win their region tournaments get a second chance at one of the sectionals held throughout the state.
Teams qualify for a second-chance at the sectionals if they met the qualifying standard. The idea is to reward good teams that compete in a difficult region.
Teams that won the region, but did not meet the qualifying standard, must also survive the sectional. This prevents a poor team from reaching the state tournament just because they won a weak region.
The state tournaments will be May 18.
